O sboru

CB Dejvice was founded in 1995, shortly after the fall of communism, with a vision to bring the hope of the Gospel to Prague 6. Today, this district is home to more than 109,000 residents and 38,000 university students, who have little exposure to the message of Christ or the church. For more than thirty years, we have sought to welcome newcomers, serve our community, and share the Gospel. God has blessed this ministry, allowing us to plant another church in Prague and grow into a congregation of approximately 150 members, large by Czech standards and uniquely positioned to reach the next generation.

In 2001, we purchased a building on Evropská Street, the main thoroughfare of Prague 6, with a long-term vision: one day, it could become the center of all our ministry activities. Since then, we have invested years of work and resources into renovating the property. Yet for more than 30 years, our Sunday worship services have continued to meet in a rented hotel auditorium two kilometers up the road.

Today, our church life is split between locations. Throughout the week, our building is filled to capacity with ministries, discipleship groups, youth programs, counseling, community events, and outreach activities. Every available room is in regular use. On Sundays, however, the entire congregation must relocate to a rented communist era hotel. This arrangement is costly, labor-intensive, and limits our ability to serve both our congregation and our neighborhood.
